What’s below us?

So if over the next X years — say 100, but probably a lot less — the minds migrate into a new abstraction aka virtual machine layer: this increases the likelihood dramatically that we — our bodies — are only constructs on some other virtual machine, which in turn has been implemented somehow.

Quantum theory tells us that down at the smallest scales (in time and space), things are digital. This is a dead giveaway for the virtual machine hypothesis.

What’s below our feet?

And why in the world do those guys go through the effort and expense — in whatever currency of scarcity they have there — to provide this world for us?
